On March 1, 2020, actor and singer Lee Seung-gi showed the world just how big his heart is by donating a staggering 3 billion won to KAIST's Science and Technology Development Fund. This generous donation will go towards furthering the development of science and technology.
According to KAIST, Lee Seung-gi will be signing the KAIST Development Fund Agreement on March 3rd at their Dokok Campus in Seoul. The event is sure to be a historic one, marking a momentous occasion for both KAIST and Lee Seung-gi.
But this isn't the first time Lee Seung-gi has made headlines for his philanthropy. Last year, he announced that he would donate all of the approximately 500 million won he received from his agency, Hook Entertainment, excluding litigation expenses. Lee Seung-gi said, "I wanted to use the money in a more meaningful place."
And he wasn't just talking the talk. Lee Seung-gi immediately put his plan into action, donating 200 million won to Seoul National University Children's Hospital to improve their treatment environment, and 55 million won to the Korean Red Cross for disaster relief efforts, including a mobile kitchen car and a blood donation bus. With the addition of his 3 billion won donation to KAIST, Lee Seung-gi has now donated a total of 280 million won in just one month.
